Wouldn’t The Big Leagues Be So Much Better With These Additions?
Ok these may seem radical but I think they could work.
1. Detach the minor league systems from both themselves and their major league affiliates. Then, the MILB season will matter. Players get drafted out of college into single A, and then are drafted again to the second (you’ll see why) worst AA team, and so on and so forth. This would mean cutting the A, AA, AAA systems to just 32 teams, however.
2. Have the champion minor league team in each system take the place of the worst team in system above them each year.
3. Shorten the Division Series’ to best of three games, and the Championship Series to Best of Five.
4. Host the World Series at different location every year, preferably the same stadium that the All-Star Game is held in.
